You must not fool yourself

The principle is that you must not fool yourself, and you are the easiest person to fool – Richard Feynman

For me, writing isn’t just a tool for communication. It is, first & foremost, a tool for thinking, it is a way of expressing my thoughts to myself.

I don’t know whether I’ve understood a topic or not unless I’m able to make someone else understand it clearly.

And writing every day has helped me to do so.

I write these daily notes for you and my future self.

Writing about topics I’m exploring and trying to connect the dots between ideas makes me think critically about them. It forces me to analyze each concept from different angles and ultimately, helps me communicate these ideas better.

Unlike speaking, where I can hide behind superfluous phrases like, “You know what I mean,” writing forces me to confront myself when I don’t understand something as well as I would like to believe.

I don’t write because I have something to say. I write to find out what I’ve to say.
